University of Detroit Mercy women win Canisius Alumni Classic

The University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team won the Canisius Alumni Classic at Delaware Park in Buffalo, New York, finishing with 45 points. Freshman Anna Kujansuu led the Titans with a third-place finish and a new school freshman record of 17:59.

Other notable performances for the Titans included Kirsten Koss, who finished seventh with a career-best time, and Alaina Burns, who placed tenth. The team's victory marks the second time in school history that Detroit Mercy has won two races in a single season.

In the men's competition at the same event, the Daemen University men's cross country team placed eighth out of 13 teams with a score of 204. Senior Ethan Keating led the Wildcats with a 17th-place finish.
