University of Dhaka 54th convocation scheduled for January 26, 2027

The University of Dhaka has scheduled its 54th convocation for January 26, 2027. The ceremony will be presided over by the University Chancellor and President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, with Prime Minister Tarek Rahman expected to attend as an honored guest.

Professor Atsushi Sunami, President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan, will serve as the convocation speaker and will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Additionally, Professor Muhammad Harunur Rashid, a significant donor to a university trust fund, will receive an honorary Doctor of Science degree.

Applications for participation will open on November 1 and remain open until November 30. Graduates and medalists who completed their degrees based on exam results published between November 20, 2022, and November 30, 2026, are eligible to participate. To ensure a smooth event, the university has formed an executive management committee and several subcommittees.
