University of Ferrara launches science-themed theater series

The University of Ferrara is launching a new theatrical series titled ‘Teatro al Polo: tra teatro e scienza’ (Theater at the Pole: between theater and science). The initiative will transform the university's Scientific and Technological Pole into an open-air performance space on September 16, 22, and 24 at 9:00 PM.

The program aims to use the language of art and emotion to make complex scientific concepts, such as species extinction, cosmology, and neuroscience, more accessible to the public. Each performance will be followed by a debate between the artists and university experts to deepen the discussion.

The scheduled performances include:

• September 16: ‘L’estinzione dei rinoceronti’ by Ferrara Off, which uses the story of the last northern white rhinoceroses to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature. • September 22: ‘L’universo è un materasso – E le stelle un lenzuolo’ by Compagnia del Sole, focusing on cosmological themes. • September 24: ‘Il cervello complice’ by Marte 2010, exploring the workings of the human mind.

Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis, and no reservation is required.
