University of Guadalajara to host AI and Transhumanism congress

The University of Guadalajara (UdeG), through the International Network of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (REDDIH), will host the second University Congress on Artificial Intelligence and Transhumanism on August 19.

The event aims to analyze the challenges and implications of rapid technological development on daily life, education, the economy, and human rights protection. José Trinidad Padilla López, president of REDDIH, stated the congress will focus on ensuring technological advancement respects human dignity and fundamental rights.

Discussions will address dilemmas such as mass surveillance, civil liberties, disinformation, digital identity, and the protection of neuro-rights. Additionally, the congress will examine transhumanism and its potential to deepen social inequalities if access to such technology is not managed with equity.
