University of Houston names Beto López to lead new digital healthcare institute

UH Health has appointed Beto López as the inaugural executive director of the Institute for Digital Healthcare Transformation at the University of Houston. López will oversee university-wide initiatives to develop and commercialize technologies aimed at improving healthcare access, delivery, and patient outcomes.

López brings over two decades of experience in innovation across the private, public, and academic sectors. His background includes a decade at the consultancy IDEO, a leadership role at UT Austin’s Dell Medical School, and experience co-founding a social venture studio and venture capital fund focused on healthcare innovation. His work has previously involved digital and population health initiatives with Legacy Community Health.
