University of Houston soccer defeats Northwestern State 5-0

The University of Houston soccer team secured a 5-0 victory against Northwestern State in its home opener at the Carl Lewis International Complex. Sophomore Samira Minor led the scoring with two goals, including a penalty kick, while senior Danielle Shannon, junior Skylar Miller, and sophomore Bailey Cate also contributed to the win.

The Cougars (1-0-1) are scheduled to host Tarleton State this Sunday at 1 p.m. The upcoming match will feature themed activities for Kids Day and Mental Health Awareness Day, including a Kids Zone and the distribution of green ribbons.
