University of Huelva removes Pan-Hispanic language exhibition due to vandalism
The University of Huelva has been forced to prematurely dismantle the ‘Palabras Panhispánicas’ exhibition located in the Plaza de la Constitución. The decision follows repeated acts of vandalism targeting the installation since its inauguration on October 15.
Initial damage occurred on the opening night, resulting in the destruction of three display canvases. Although the university replaced the damaged materials on October 21 to maintain the cultural initiative, a second, more significant wave of vandalism occurred on the night of October 22, affecting nearly all the canvases.
The exhibition, which was scheduled to remain until November 6, was officially removed on Friday, October 23. The project was conceived by the Instituto Castellano y Leonés de la Lengua and the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language (ASALE) as part of the Ibero-American Cultural Autumn programming.
