University of Idaho and CU Boulder receive sustainability honors

The University of Idaho and CU Boulder have received significant national and international recognition for their sustainability initiatives.

The University of Idaho earned the Carnegie Elective Classification for Sustainability, becoming one of the first 14 institutions to receive this designation. The university also achieved a 100% score in the curriculum category of the 2026 Sustainable Campus Index. These honors reflect the institution's efforts to integrate sustainability into research, education, and campus operations.

CU Boulder was named the Sustainability Institution of the Year by the International Green Gown Awards, making it the first U.S. institution to receive this honor. The award recognizes the university's integration of sustainability into governance, community engagement, and climate science research, as well as its progress in tracking measurable environmental outcomes.
