University of Ioannina and Greek Folk Dance Ministry announce partnership

The National Greek Folk Dance and Cultural Ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the University of Ioannina have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster academic and cultural cooperation. The partnership focuses on the preservation, teaching, and resource development of Greek traditional dance and cultural heritage.

Inspired by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the initiative aims to connect academic research with the cultural experiences of Greek diaspora communities in the United States. Planned collaborations include educational workshops, curriculum development, scholarly research, student and faculty exchanges, and professional development for dance educators to ensure the sustainability of Greek dance traditions.
