University of Ioannina sets strategic goals for 2030

The University of Ioannina held an official ceremony on October 5 to mark the assumption of duties by its new Rectoral Authorities and Governing Council. During her keynote speech, Rector Professor Anna K. Batistatou, beginning her second term, presented an account of the previous period and outlined strategic priorities for 2026–2030.

Key achievements highlighted include the institutional and administrative reorganization of the institution, the formulation of a Strategic Plan for 2025–2028, and the passage of a new Internal Regulation after twenty years. The university has also focused on digital transformation, including the implementation of the e-University system and the operationalization of the DIONY computing infrastructure.

Additionally, the university received a ‘Compliance’ distinction for its Quality Assurance System through 2030 and rose to 8th place nationally in the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQAEE) evaluation. This performance contributed to an increase in funding for 2026 by approximately 1 million euros. Economic improvements noted include the stabilization of the Property Management Company and the settlement of old debts.
