University of Iowa hosts On Iowa! orientation week

The University of Iowa held its annual ‘On Iowa!’ orientation week from August 16 to August 22, 2026. The week-long program, hosted by the Orientation Services team, featured over 200 events designed to help incoming students adjust to campus life and access available resources.

A highlight of the programming was the ‘Kickoff at Kinnick’ event held on August 21 at Kinnick Stadium, which introduced students to Iowa football traditions through a fireworks display. Speakers at the assembly included University President Barbara Wilson, Women’s Basketball Head Coach Jen Jansen, and Men’s Basketball Head Coach Ben McCollum.
