University of Jaén expands research staff and opens center in China
The University of Jaén (UJA) is expanding its scientific and international presence through new research appointments and a strategic partnership in China.
Following recent public calls for the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation, the university will incorporate 15 high-level researchers. These appointments include seven contracts from the Ramón y Cajal Program covering fields such as Health Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Law, Chemical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, four contracts from the Beatriz Galindo Program will focus on returning international researchers in areas like Philology, Ancient History, and Psychology, while four Juan de la Cierva contracts will support high-potential young doctors.
In terms of internationalization, UJA has reached an agreement with Hebei University to establish a Training and Research Center on the Chinese campus. A delegation led by Rector Nicolás Ruiz Reyes formalized this through a Memorandum of Understanding and a Base Collaboration Agreement. This initiative aims to strengthen the university’s global positioning and provide new opportunities for students and researchers within a major technological and industrial hub.
