Naturcyl ecotourism fair promotes rural development in Segovia
The ninth edition of Naturcyl, an international ecotourism fair, is being held in the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, Segovia. The event focuses on the theme ‘Living Territories: the rural world as guardian of nature,’ aiming to promote sustainable tourism as a driver for economic and social reactivation in rural areas. The fair includes 80 exhibitors from Spain and Portugal, facilitating professional meetings and commercializing natural heritage products.
Regional authorities in Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha are emphasizing the importance of rural tourism. In Castilla-La Mancha, efforts are being made to bolster interior tourism following summer forest fires, with a focus on gastronomy and natural landscapes. Meanwhile, in Castilla y León, initiatives range from promoting Spanish language tourism in Italy to highlighting historical landmarks like the Alcázar of Segovia and various protected species in Soria.
Other regional developments include the growth of the ceramics industry in the Talavera region and the promotion of specialized tourism routes, such as the Saffron Paths in Albacete and the cultural heritage of Villacañas and the Sierra de Aracena.
