University of Jaén launches summer sports schools for 137 children

The University of Jaén’s Vicerrectorado de Universidad Sostenible y Saludable ran its summer Sports Schools across the Jaén and Linares campuses, enrolling 137 children aged between 2012 and 2021. The programme runs until 31 July 2026 and offers a mix of traditional and alternative sports, cooperative games, artistic workshops and water activities. Participation is split between 124 children at the Campus of Las Lagunillas in Jaén and 13 at the Scientific‑Technological Campus in Linares, with 86 boys and 51 girls.

The university views the schools as a means to support families, promote healthy habits and foster teamwork during the summer months.
