University of Kara seeks new academic partnerships in China

A delegation from the University of Kara, led by President Professor Prénam Houzou-Mouzou, traveled to Chengdu, China, from September 27 to 30, 2026, to establish new international academic partnerships. The mission coincided with the 70th anniversary of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).

Discussions with UESTC focused on drafting a memorandum of understanding to facilitate student and staff mobility, joint training programs, and scientific research collaborations. A significant point of discussion was the potential establishment of a Confucius Institute at the University of Kara to strengthen Chinese language learning and cultural exchanges between Togo and China.

In addition to UESTC, the delegation engaged with various other institutions, including the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the University of Montpellier, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), to explore diverse opportunities in research, mobility, and academic innovation.
