University of Kentucky researches nine pumpkin cultivars

The Rudolph Lab at the University of Kentucky Horticulture Research Farm conducted horticultural research by growing nine different varieties of jack-o'-lantern pumpkins to compare their development and growth.

The study focused on characteristics essential for growers, such as size, shape, color, and maturity. The nine cultivars tested included varieties named ‘The Boss’, ‘Rocket’, ‘Ghost Town’, ‘Racer’, ‘Early Giant’, ‘Spicy Mocha’, ‘Renegade’, ‘Mellow Yellow’, and ‘Kratos’.

Pumpkin maturity typically requires between 80 and 120 days depending on the specific cultivar and weather conditions.
