University of Kragujevac promotes major new surgery textbook

A major new surgery textbook, edited by Professor Slobodan Milisavljević and Professor Berislav Vekić, was promoted at the Terazije Theatre in Belgrade. Published by the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Kragujevac, the work is a comprehensive two-volume set spanning over 2,500 pages and 38 chapters.

The textbook features contributions from 149 authors, including surgeons and specialists from medical faculties in Kragujevac, Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, and the Military Medical Academy. It is designed to serve as professional material for various levels of medical education, ranging from undergraduate medical studies to specialist and doctoral surgical programs.

This publication marks the first surgery textbook released by the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Kragujevac in the last fifty years. The promotion included remarks from University of Kragujevac Rector Professor Vladimir Ranković and Professor Nataša Zdravković. The Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medical Sciences has become the institution's largest, employing 39 doctors across various surgical specialties at the University Clinical Center Kragujevac.
