University of L’Aquila reopens Gynecology and Obstetrics specialization school
The University of L’Aquila has officially reopened its specialization school in Gynecology and Obstetrics, with five doctors currently enrolled. The reopening is the result of institutional collaboration between the university and the local health authority, Asl 1 Avezzano-Sulmona-L’Aquila.
Antonio Farina will lead the specialization school, focusing on a strategy that combines clinical activity with research. The program aims to cover a broad spectrum of the field, including obstetrics, prenatal medicine, reproductive medicine, oncological surgery, gynecological ultrasound, and pelvic floor management. The goal is to train motivated specialists who can gain experience in international centers of excellence and bring advanced expertise back to the region.
Additionally, Professor Alberto Mattei will serve as an extraordinary professor for the next three years to help develop and centralize gynecological surgical activities in L’Aquila. The initiative also includes a high-level training course in gynecological surgery designed to improve clinical practices and the management of complex cases.
