University of León explores academic exchanges with Gonzaga University

The University of León (ULE) is exploring new avenues for academic cooperation and international mobility through potential partnerships with institutions in the United States. ULE Rector Nuria González Álvarez and Vice-Rector of Internationalization José Alberto Benítez Andrades recently met with a delegation from Gonzaga University, based in Spokane, Washington.

The meeting, led by Gonzaga President Katia Passerini, focused on establishing exchange programs that would allow ULE students to study in the United States and facilitate the arrival of Gonzaga students to the León and Ponferrada campuses.

Beyond student mobility, the institutions discussed collaborative research in strategic areas, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and health sciences. Gonzaga University noted its strong international focus, with 63 percent of its students participating in study abroad programs during their university tenure.
