University of León's Ponferrada Campus marks 30 years

The Ponferrada Campus of the University of León (ULE) is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the launch of a new visual identity and an extensive commemorative program. The new logo, designed by illustrator Alejandro de la Fuente Vidal, utilizes three evolving lines to represent the three decades of the institution's history and its connection to the campus building.

Vice-rector Pilar Marqués emphasized that the anniversary aims to reinforce the university's commitment to the El Bierzo region, noting that the campus contributes to local demographic growth by attracting students and graduates to the area. The celebration is designed to be inclusive of both the university community and the general public.

The anniversary program will span the entire academic year and includes various cultural, sporting, and gastronomic activities. Initial events scheduled for September include summer cinema sessions open to the public, student fairs, and the 'UniverFest' event held in collaboration with the Ponferrada City Council.
