University of Macerata achieves top national rankings in education

The University of Macerata’s Department of Education, Cultural Heritage, and Tourism has achieved high national rankings in recent Censis evaluations. The three-year degree program in ‘Education and Training Sciences’ is ranked second in Italy within its disciplinary group, while the single-cycle master’s degree in ‘Primary Education Sciences’ is among the top five nationally.

To mark the new academic year, the university is launching a new three-year degree in ‘Motor and Sports Sciences for Inclusion’. This program integrates scientific, pedagogical, psychological, and social knowledge to train professionals capable of designing physical activities for people with disabilities, special educational needs, and various stages of life. The curriculum includes subjects such as physiology, anatomy, sports psychology, and inclusive technologies.

Department Director Simone Betti stated that these results recognize the quality of the work performed and the department’s ability to adapt to societal changes. He emphasized that the new sports science course views movement not merely as physical activity, but as a tool for education, social interaction, and inclusion.
