University of Maine football relies on veteran offensive line

University of Maine football Black Bears Jordan Stevens offensive line Coastal Athletic Association

University of Maine head coach Jordan Stevens is placing significant emphasis on the team’s veteran offensive line as the Black Bears prepare for their season opener against Towson in a Coastal Athletic Association game.

Coming off a 6-6 season, the team aims for its first winning record since 2021. Stevens noted that the program has a high number of returning players this year. The projected starting offensive line includes Andrew Kocan, Noah Stanley, Jack Boutaugh, Ian Erickson or Tyler Williams, and Anthony Illiano.

The team is looking to build on last season’s rushing production, which averaged 163.8 yards per game. Lead back Rashawn Marshall and the return of Nick Laughlin from an ACL injury are expected to bolster the running and passing attacks.
