University of Medical Sciences of Granma honors health professionals

The University of Medical Sciences of Granma held a ceremony at the Celia Sánchez Manduley Provincial Clinical-Surgical Teaching Hospital to honor health professionals for their contributions to teaching, healthcare service, and research.

During the event, 48 health professionals received the ‘Distinción Por la Educación Cubana’ for their career trajectories and commitment to medical education. Specific honors included the José Tey Medal awarded to doctors Madeleine González Broche, Madelin Rodríguez Martínez, and Delmis Montero Verdecia. Additionally, the Carlos Juan Finlay Order was awarded to Rita Irma González Sábado and to the University of Medical Sciences of Granma itself for its scientific research and community projects aimed at resolving regional health issues.
