University of Michigan names C. Cybele Raver as president
The University of Michigan Board of Regents has announced C. Cybele Raver as the institution’s 17th president. Raver, who will be the second woman to lead the university, is scheduled to take office on December 1, pending a formal vote from the Board on September 1.
Raver currently serves as the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Vanderbilt University. Her professional background also includes leadership roles at New York University, the University of Chicago, and Cornell University.
Michael Behm, Chair of the Board, stated that Raver possesses a proven record of expanding research excellence and building strong teams. Raver expressed that it is an ‘extraordinary honor’ to lead the university during a pivotal moment in higher education.
