University of Michigan sweeps University of Denver in hockey series

The University of Michigan hockey team secured a two-game sweep against the University of Denver, including a 4-1 victory on October 16 at Magness Arena. The matchup featured the reigning national champion, Denver, against Michigan in a highly anticipated rematch of the Frozen Four semifinal.

Prior to the game, Denver celebrated by raising its 11th NCAA national championship banner to commemorate its 2026 Frozen Four victory. Despite early offensive pressure from Denver, Michigan took control with goals from Jayden Perron, Malcolm Spence, and Cole McKinney. Denver struggled to capitalize on multiple power-play opportunities and faced difficulties maintaining possession throughout the series.
