University of Minho hosts research showcase and archaeological field studies
The University of Minho is hosting its Research & Innovation Open Days from September 22 to 24 at the Gualtar Campus. The event features a technological showcase of over 50 prototypes, highlighting research in fields such as digital health, space exploration, energy storage, and electric mobility. The university has secured approximately 50 million euros in funding through participation in more than 20 Mobilizing Agendas.
Separately, nearly 100 archaeology students from the university conducted summer field research across eight locations in Portugal and Spain. The fieldwork, which included students from undergraduate to doctoral levels, spanned territories including Braga, Vila Velha de Ródão, and several regions in Galicia, such as Pontevedra and León. These supervised internships focused on diverse historical periods, ranging from 6,000-year-old rock art to Roman and medieval structures.
