University of Mississippi launches CBD sleep study with Southern Sky Brands

The University of Mississippi’s National Center for Cannabis Research and Education (NCCRE) has partnered with Mississippi‑based medical cannabis company Southern Sky Brands to conduct a clinical study on cannabidiol (CBD) and sleep. Researchers will evaluate sleep duration, overall sleep quality and participant‑reported wellness among adult volunteers. NCCRE Director Robert Welch said the collaboration aims to generate high‑quality scientific data to aid patients, clinicians and policymakers. Southern Sky Brands Director of Operations Charles Thompson highlighted the company’s commitment to advancing patient care through research. Details such as the number of participants, dosage, placebo use and study start date have not yet been released, with results to be reported later.
