University of Missouri and Fairfield University rise in college rankings

The University of Missouri has climbed to 95th in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, marking a 44-spot increase since 2020. The university reported a 91% first-year retention rate and a 77% graduation rate. It also ranks among the top 13 for Best Value Public Universities and is recognized for its programs in business, nursing, psychology, and support for veterans.

Fairfield University has risen 30 spots in the rankings to reach 109th place. University officials noted that while the ranking serves as a significant marketing tool and recognition of the institution's quality, the impact on student outcomes is expected to be a steady, long-term shift rather than an immediate transformation.
