University of Missouri prepares for homecoming parade and Florida game

The University of Missouri is preparing for its homecoming festivities, headlined by a football game against the No. 8 Florida Gators. The celebration includes a homecoming parade starting at 9 a.m. near Tiger Avenue and Rollins Street, traveling through downtown Columbia before concluding on Cherry Street, which has been designated as a sensory-friendly area.

Local authorities have announced several traffic and parking adjustments for the event. Street parking along the parade route will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to noon, and the Missouri Department of Transportation is delaying road work in Columbia and Boone County to manage game-day traffic. Designated rideshare and transit spaces will be available in various downtown locations.

On the athletic front, the high-stakes matchup follows a recent loss for the Tigers to Mississippi State. Adding to the interest in the game is the visit of Knox Kiffin, a highly-ranked quarterback recruit and son of LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, who will be attending the game at Faurot Field.
