University of Montana debuts scholarship-focused jersey patch
The University of Montana has announced a new jersey patch for its football team to support the ‘For Montana Scholarship Initiative’. Unlike many other collegiate programs that use jersey patches for corporate branding, such as Ohio State with Chase or Arkansas with Tyson Foods, the Montana Grizzlies will feature a patch designed to raise awareness for the University of Montana Foundation.
The initiative aims to expand scholarship opportunities for students residing in Montana. Athletic Director Kent Haslam stated that the patch will say ‘For Montana’ and will change colors to match the team's jerseys, appearing in white or maroon.
While the university's partner, Learfield, has engaged in discussions regarding traditional corporate jersey patches, no such agreements have been finalized. Haslam indicated that while a corporate patch agreement may occur in the future, the current focus remains on promoting on-campus support and scholarship initiatives.
