University of Montenegro begins rector election process

The Governing Board of the University of Montenegro is expected to initiate the procedure for electing a rector for the 2027–2030 term. The board is slated to establish election deadlines, announce a public call, and appoint an Election Commission.

Simultaneously, the Parliament of Montenegro's Committee for Education has requested additional information from the University and the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation regarding an initiative for the direct election of the rector. Nikola Rovčanin, Chairman of the Education Committee, stated that a date for a thematic session to discuss this initiative with MPs and professors has not yet been determined.
