University of Montevallo wins Bassmaster College National Championship

Brody Robison and Peyton Sorrow of the University of Montevallo won the 2026 Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship at Leech Lake in Walker, Minnesota. The duo secured the title with a three-day total weight of 61 pounds, 3 ounces, narrowly defeating McKendree University's Ethan Fields and Lane Stephens by 9 ounces.

The final day of competition was marked by punishing conditions, as gusty northwest winds created difficult waves on Leech Lake. Despite the weather, Robison and Sorrow maintained their lead by targeting smallmouth bass, finishing the tournament with a final day catch of 16-10.

In addition to the championship trophy, the winners received a $5,000 first-place prize and earned a spot in the 2026 College Classic Bracket, which provides a pathway to the 2027 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic.
