University of New England proposes arts courses for Tamworth campus
The University of New England (UNE) is planning to introduce creative industries courses at its Tamworth campus to address regional arts shortages. The proposed curriculum is expected to focus on the music business, providing students with essential skills in project management and basic business operations to help them navigate the recording industry.
In addition to arts and humanities, the Tamworth campus will offer nursing and medical courses. Professor Melanie Fillios, UNE's director of place-based learning, is leading the academic development of the campus. To ensure the coursework meets local needs, the university is inviting the community to participate in a session on October 23 to help shape the future curriculum.
