University of New England Taree celebrates 25 years of local study

The University of New England (UNE) Taree campus is celebrating 25 years of providing localized higher education to the Mid-Coast region. The facility offers 24/7 swipe-card access, allowing students to utilize quiet study rooms, computers, and campus kitchens at any hour.

Associate Professor Adele Nye noted that the 24-hour model helps break down barriers for regional students, particularly those in nursing, education, and agricultural sciences. The center supports over 200 students from areas including Bulahdelah, Gloucester, and Port Macquarie, providing face-to-face academic support to help those who may be the first in their families to attend university.
