University of North Alabama debuts on-campus football stadium

The University of North Alabama (UNA) is set to host its first-ever on-campus football game this Saturday, September 19, at the newly completed Bank Independent Stadium. The Lions will face Alcorn State with kickoff scheduled for 6 PM.

Constructed at an estimated cost of $65 million, the multi-purpose facility features a new turf field, a track, a 10,000-person capacity, and stadium suites. The venue is designed to host football, baseball, soccer, concerts, and conventions. This move marks a significant shift for the program, which has played its home games at Braly Municipal Stadium for the past 77 seasons.
