University of North Carolina Launches Free Chapel Thrill Game Day Concert Series

The University of North Carolina will bring back Chapel Thrill Game Day for the 2026 fall football season. The free, family‑friendly pre‑game concert series will take place on Polk Place in front of Wilson Library, opening three hours before each home game and presented by the Rams Club.

The lineup features national recording artists across electronic dance, country, alternative pop, hip‑hop and rock. Rick Barakat, UNC deputy athletic director, said, "After experiencing tremendous success and receiving overwhelmingly positive fan feedback, we are thrilled to be launching Chapel Thrill Game Day 2.0 this coming football season." Scheduled performers include DJ Diesel (Shaquille O'Neal), former Tar Heel linebacker‑turned‑singer Chase Rice, country band Parmalee and alternative rock group Neon Trees, among others.
