University of Palermo announces new student housing and community education programs
The University of Palermo and Ersu Palermo have announced several initiatives aimed at supporting students and local communities. Ersu Palermo has released the first rankings for student housing services for the 2026/2027 academic year, designating 956 beds across its Palermo and Caltanissetta locations. This allocation is part of a broader national effort funded by 1.2 billion euros from the PNRR to create 60,000 new university beds through the Ministry of University and Research and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
Simultaneously, the University of Palermo has launched the fifth edition of its ‘Università Diffusa’ project. This initiative offers 33 free educational pathways designed to promote social inclusion and cultural growth in local territories. The program includes 29 courses in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, three in Trapani, and one in Caltanissetta, covering topics such as environmental sustainability, social innovation, and active citizenship in collaboration with local associations and schools.
