University of Palermo secures four spots in ADI Design Index 2026
The University of Palermo has had four projects selected for the ADI Design Index 2026. These projects, presented at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, place the university on the path toward the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI award scheduled for 2028.
The selected works include three projects from the Department of Architecture focused on research and teaching, and one specialist degree thesis regarding the university's cultural heritage. The projects are:
• Osmosi: A study on transforming underutilized spaces into local cultural infrastructures. • Museo delle Città del Mondo Diffuso: A project bringing community stories into the streets of Palermo. • Instant Handbook: An application of artificial intelligence to make lectures accessible to those not present in the classroom. • Palazzo Chiaromonte project: New tools for interpreting the complex medieval wooden ceiling of the Sala Magna.
