The University of Patras is launching a new English-language undergraduate medical program to enhance its international academic presence. An official presentation and welcoming ceremony for the inaugural class of first-year students is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, at the University's Conference and Cultural Center.

The curriculum is designed to integrate Greek academic tradition with a modern, international scientific community.

The program has already seen significant international interest, with 168 applicants from 23 different countries. Approximately 50 international students will comprise the first cohort. The ceremony will feature addresses from University Rector Christos I. Bouras, Dean of Health Sciences Konstantinos Stathopoulos, and Medical Department Chair Georgios L. Antonakis.
