University of Patras partners with road operators for student safety
As part of the ‘Welcome to UP 2026’ initiative, the University of Patras has partnered with Olympia Odos, NEA Odos, and the Rio-Antirrio Bridge operators to launch a road safety educational program for first-year students.
The initiative aims to promote responsible movement and accident prevention through experiential and scientifically backed training. In collaboration with the ‘Panos Mylonas’ Road Safety Institute, the program seeks to foster a culture of prevention among young people who are gaining increased mobility and autonomy.
The collaboration is particularly relevant to the university's geography, as the road infrastructures managed by these companies connect the regions of Achaia and Aetolia-Acarnania, which are central to the university's activities.
