University of Perugia signs new labor agreements for staff welfare

The University of Perugia has signed new labor agreements with trade unions following a period of stalemate. The agreements aim to improve the professional and personal quality of life for technical, administrative, and library staff.

Key measures include the doubling of weekly meal vouchers and increased flexibility in working hours. To combat the rising cost of living, the university will provide a net contribution of approximately 270 euros in 2026 to reimburse employees for domestic utility bills, including electricity, gas, and water.

Additionally, the university is increasing financial resources for merit-based rewards. Responsibility allowances will increase by 40%, resources for performance bonuses will double, and the budget for internal economic progressions will grow by 43%.
