University of Piraeus launches new MSc in Digital Tourism Transformation
The University of Piraeus has announced the launch of a new Master of Science (MSc) program titled ‘Digital Transformation and Innovation in Tourism’. Scheduled to welcome its first students for the 2026–2027 academic year, the program is identified as the first of its kind internationally to offer an exclusive and holistic focus on integrating new technologies into the tourism industry.
Rather than treating digital transformation as a standalone technical subject, the curriculum approaches it as a comprehensive process affecting how tourism businesses and destinations are designed, managed, and operated. The program aims to bridge the gap between higher education and the labor market by connecting artificial intelligence, data, and digital platforms with strategic management, marketing, investments, human resources, and sustainability.
Key areas of study include AI and information systems, digital marketing, digital human resource management, digital investment assessment, and the management of innovation and crises. The program also covers ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors, accessibility, and new business models within the global tourism ecosystem.
