University of Pisa professors debut theatrical performance

Professors from the University of Pisa will perform the play “I figuranti” by José Sanchis Sinisterra at the Teatro Nuovo in Pisa on October 23 and 24. The production, directed by Franco Farina and Marta Paganelli, serves as the concluding showcase for the university’s annual Didactic Theater laboratory.

The laboratory is designed to enhance faculty teaching capabilities by focusing on vocal techniques, stage presence, spatial use, and interpersonal communication skills. The play itself explores themes of freedom and social roles, depicting a group of background actors who attempt to seize control of the stage from the main protagonists, only to discover their rebellion may have been pre-ordained by an “Author.”

Admission to the performances is free, though reservations are required via Ciaotickets.
