University of Porto to host European Incretin Study Group Meeting in 2026

The University of Porto will host the sixth European Incretin Study Group Meeting from September 3 to 5, 2026. The event will take place at the Abel Salazar Institute of Sciences (ICBAS).

Organized by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), the meeting will bring together approximately 150 international doctors and academics. The discussions will focus on the physiology and pathophysiology of incretins, as well as recent therapeutic advancements in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Mariana P. Monteiro, Chair of the Steering Committee, noted that hosting the event serves as recognition of Portugal’s scientific contributions to the field and provides an opportunity to increase the visibility of Portuguese research within international scientific networks.
