University of Salamanca joins Global Alliance for Digital Education at Hangzhou conference

The University of Salamanca completed negotiations with Chinese authorities and secured membership in the Global Alliance for Digital Education. The formal accession took place during the World Digital Education Conference in Hangzhou on 11 May, with rector Juan Manuel Corchado meeting Liu Limin of the China Education Association for International Exchange.

By joining the alliance, the Spanish public university becomes the only one from Spain in the network, positioning it alongside top institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University and UNESCO‑affiliated bodies. The alliance also includes partners from the UK, Australia, Italy, Japan and major organisations like Tencent and the Arab Organisation for Education, Culture and Science, reinforcing the university’s role as a digital‑education reference in Asia.
