University of San Marino appoints Paolo Pascucci as Rector
The University of San Marino has expressed appreciation following the unanimous approval by the Grand and General Council of Paolo Pascucci as the new Rector. The appointment, decided by the Academic Senate on July 23, is intended to ensure continuity in the university’s ongoing initiatives regarding research, internationalization, and student services.
Pascucci succeeds Corrado Petrocelli, who led the institution since 2014. Under Petrocelli’s tenure, the university joined the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), received international quality accreditation, and saw significant growth in student enrollment and academic offerings, including master's degrees and doctoral programs.
The new Rector faces upcoming challenges such as demographic decline, the integration of artificial intelligence in education, and the need to update academic curricula while supporting the cultural and economic growth of San Marino.
