University of Seville cancels Feminists Against Fascism event

The University of Seville has canceled a scheduled presentation for the platform ‘Feminists Against Fascism’ at the last minute. The university administration cited that the event was of a “political nature” and stated that while the institution does not oppose feminism, it does not permit political acts on campus.

The organizers, who had over 200 registered participants, expressed significant concern regarding the decision. They argued that closing university spaces to discussions on democracy, equality, and authoritarianism is problematic, noting that they were seeking a space for debate rather than institutional endorsement. Due to the cancellation, the event has been relocated to the CCOO Andalucía headquarters.
