University of Siena allocated 263 medical specialization scholarships

The University of Siena has been allocated 263 scholarships for medical specialization schools for the 2025/2026 academic year. These positions span 34 accredited schools, representing an economic value exceeding 26.8 million euros.

Emergency and urgent medicine leads the distribution in terms of available positions, followed by anesthesia and resuscitation. Other specialties include pediatrics (15 positions), radiodiagnostics (13), cardiovascular diseases (11), and psychiatry (11). General surgery, geriatrics, hygiene and preventive medicine, and internal medicine each have 10 positions available.

To attract talent to the emergency and urgent medicine program, the University of Siena and the Siena University Hospital have introduced specific incentives. The first ten doctors assigned to the 2026/2027 activity will receive an exemption from university fees and an additional monthly allowance of 500 euros.

Nationally, the Ministry of University and Research has assigned 15,221 specialist training contracts, an increase of 133 compared to the previous year.
