University of São Paulo Bauru hosts Ebola virus symposium

The Integrated Research and Innovation Center of the Faculty of Dentistry at Bauru (FOB‑USP) will hold a free scientific symposium titled “Ebola Virus in Focus – Clinical, Virology and Evolution” on 16 September, from 14:00 to 17:00, in the auditorium of the faculty library. The event is open to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers and health‑care professionals.

Three plenary sessions will cover filovirology, the evolution of filoviruses and the clinical management of Ebola and Marburg infections. Speakers include Kaique Cesar de Paula Silva (filovirology), Thiago Silva Messias (viral evolution) and Edson Carvalho de Melo (clinical aspects). Presentations will address molecular biology, epidemiology, diagnostic challenges and current research directions, aiming to integrate basic research with clinical practice.
