University of South Florida football loses streak to Temple

The University of South Florida football team suffered its first loss of the 2026 season, falling 17-13 to Temple. The defeat ended a nine-game home winning streak and halted a 4-0 start to the season.

Head coach Brian Hartline attributed the loss to offensive execution and alignment issues, noting that the team struggled to translate practice performance to the field. The Bulls' offense has seen a significant decline, averaging 26.6 points per game compared to 45.4 points per game in the 2025 season.

Despite the loss, running back D.J. Crowther scored his sixth touchdown of the season in the second half.
